Abstract

Abstract: Essential oils are natural products that are used as raw materials in various fields, including perfume, cosmetics, aromatherapy, phytotherapy, spices and nutrients, insecticides. Essential oils play an important role in the maintenance of human health, because they have several biological properties, and can be a natural alternative for the control of several diseases, but most publications present the results of these oils based on their complex chemical composition and not just a substance, due to the biological effects of these oils. can be associated with synergism and or antagonism between the active chemical substances that are part of the composition. The important role and workings of this natural product are discussed in relation to its bioactivity as antibacterial, antiviral, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory. Also its important role in chemoprevention and cancer suppression is discussed. All of their functions and properties are due to the presence of certain constituents discussed in this review along with their chemical structures. This review article describes some of the therapeutic abilities of essential oils in the prevention and cure of various diseases in one form or another which are directly or indirectly related to human life. The main aim of the article is to attract researchers to use traditional methods in the manufacture of new drugs in pharmaceutical diversity. Essential oils and their constituents could be of use in the future with a more positive impact on the medical industry.
