Effectiveness of Prenatal Yoga on Sleep Quality in Third Trimester Pregnant Women

Abstract


Sleep disorders in pregnant women can include a decrease in the percentage of slow-wave sleep. Prenatal yoga performed during pregnancy can help women focus on their pregnancy. Physiologically, relaxation training will cause a relaxing effect involving the parasympathetic nerves in the central nervous system. Providing yoga movements for 1 month (4 times) exercises are given once a week with a duration of 45-1 hour per meeting. The aim of this research is to the effect of prenatal yoga on sleep quality in third-trimester pregnant women at PMB Oki Puspitasari Bumi Ratu Pringsewu. This research is a type of quantitative research, pre-experimental research design using a one-group pretest and post-test approach. The subjects of this research were 25 pregnant women in the third trimester. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The research instrument used the PSQI questionnaire. Data analysis using Mc. Nemer.The results of the study show that there is an influence of prenatal yoga on sleep quality in third-trimester pregnant women at PMB Oki Puspitasari, Bumi Ratu Pringsewu Village, with a p-value of 0.031 (p<0.05). It is hoped that the results of this research will increase mothers' knowledge and insight about prenatal yoga for pregnant women so that mothers can regularly participate in prenatal yoga to overcome discomfort during pregnancy.
